TUNDRA FONDERS MONTHLY UPDATE FEBRUARY 2017

Tundra Fonder continues its expansion in frontier markets and has now recruited Asif Arslan Haider Soomro, award winning portfolio manager, to the Karachi office. For several years he has belonged to the top performing portfolio managers in Pakistan and was recently awarded a Lipper Award for best Pakistani equity fund during the past five years. Soomro will now be part of Tundra’s investment team headed by Chief Investment Officer Mattias Martinsson.

  • Frontier markets rose (MSCI Frontier Markets xGCC Net) 3.2% in SEK terms during February and the asset class hence did not quite keep pace with emerging and developed markets (+6.3% and +6.0% respectively).
  • All major Asian frontier markets, including Pakistan and Vietnam, rose during February while Africa contributed negatively as both Nigeria and Morocco fell.
