TUNDRA ANNUAL SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2019

At the time of writing this Annual Sustainability Report we are all affected – in one way or another – by the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). In this report, in addition to reporting on our activities throughout 2019, we contribute with an epidemiological approach by including data from the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) and Our World in Data to reflect disease burden (see graph) in the countries where we invest. This pandemic underlines the importance of the basic foundations for all of our societies; the link between human capital, public health, and economical systems could not be clearer. Predictions are complex, but individual risk behaviours (such as tobacco use, high sugar intake, over-eating, practicing unsafe sex or reckless driving) and specific country risks (e.g. lack of clean water, poor sanitation, malnutrition, air pollution or malaria) likely will pose a much larger threat to the young populations of frontier and emerging markets than will COVID-19.
