One of Sweden’s leading sustainability experts Parul Sharma and experienced board professional Carl Östring have recently been elected to Tundra Fonder’s board as independent board members. They replace Erik Saers and Göran Lindholm, who are leaving after 10 years and 8 years as board members, respectively. The appointments are dependent on the approval of the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority.

“Few Swedes have the breadth of experience that Carl represents, both from the financial sector and from industry, where he has had a large number of assignments in both smaller companies and larger ones, even listed on the stock exchange with the requirements that follow. In 2019, he was deservedly nominated for the “Golden gavel” for his work and we feel very fortunate to welcome him as our new Chairman, says Mattias Martinsson, Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer at Tundra.

Tundra currently has a leading position in sustainability work in early emerging markets.

“Parul is not only one of Sweden’s leading sustainability experts but also has 20 years of experience working with several of our most important markets. She has a unique understanding of the challenges that sustainability work entails in the countries where Tundra works and she will be able to challenge us to become even better, ”says Mattias Martinsson.

Tundra’s investment team currently consists of seven people who conduct investment research from both the head office in Stockholm and from the research offices in Pakistan and Vietnam. The fund manager manages the Tundra Sustainable Frontier Fund, which has five stars in Morningstar’s category for frontier markets. The fund is daily traded and available on most independent fund platforms. Total assets under management amount to USD 220 million.
